About the Coaches
Sarah Fisher, Tara Winter, Aurion Redding
Coach Tara Winter
Tara Winter began coaching cheerleading at Wartburg in the spring of 2004. She started her coaching career in 2001 at Simpson College. A 2001 Wartburg graduate, she was a business major and cheered four seasons for the Knights. Tara also serves as the Executive Director of Admissions at Wartburg and coordinates the game day experience for football games. She and her husband, Chris, Head Football Coach for the college, reside in Waverly with their daughter, Emmry, and son, Maddox. Contact Tara at tara.winter@wartburg.edu
Coach Sarah Fisher
Sarah Fisher began coaching at Wartburg in the Fall of 2019, and also serves as the team’s athletic trainer and competition choreographer. She began her coaching career in 2013 at Peet Junior High in Cedar Falls, then at Nashua Plainfield High School in 2017. Sarah is a 2017 graduate of the University of Northern Iowa and majored in athletic training. She was a staff member for the National Cheerleaders Association for three years, a council member for the Iowa Cheer Coaches Association (ICCA), and judges for various competitions and tryouts. She and her husband, Duncan, reside in Waverly along with their son, Truett, and daughter, Wrenly.
Coach Aurion Redding
Aurion Redding began coaching cheerleading at Wartburg in the Fall of 2022, after cheering four years at the college. She was a member of the 2020 and 2021 conference champion cheer teams. Aurion is a 2021 Wartburg graduate and majored in public health, and currently serves as an admissions counselor for the college. She resides in Waverly with her partner, two cats, Boo and Pumpkin, and dog, Fendi.
