Wartburg College Athletics

Destival joined the staff as a catching coach ahead of the 2024 season after spending the 2023 season as a graduate assistant at Upper Iowa University.

Since arriving at Wartburg, Desitival has developed 23 All-Conference players, two All-Region and one All-American. Wartburg led the American Rivers Conference in home runs in 2025. Since his arrival, the Knights have accumulated 111 home runs and 369 extra base hits. 

Destival's current duties for the Knights include: 

• Hitting Coach
• Catching coach 
• Handles the design of uniforms and gear 
• Coordinates the AWRE camera systems 
• Assists in opposing pitcher scouting reports
