Joe Fehrle was hired in February of 2021 as Wartburg's offensive line coach and will embark on his first season as a Knight in 2021.
Most recently, Fehrle served a brief stint as the offensive line coach and special teams coordinator at Rockford University in Rockford, Ill. He spent the prior two years at North Central College in Naperville, Ill. where he was the offensive graduate assistant.
At North Central, Fehrle helped guide the Cardinals to a 24-3 record including a 2019 Division III National Championship and a 2018 CCIW Championship. His primary duties on the team were assisting the development of the offensive line and special teams as well as being the video coordinator. Fehrle assisted in coaching three All-Conference linemen and two All-Americans. He was also involved in a offense that finished the regular season first in the nation in yards per game and points per game while breaking seven offensive team single-season records.
Fehrle was an All-American offensive linemen during his playing career at North Central and a two-time captain of the program. He also notched three All-Conference nominations and two All-Region selections. Fehrle graduated with a bachelor's degree in accounting and earned a master's in business administration from North Central.
