A Look at the Teams:
Wartburg:

The Knights are off to a 1-0 start after their season opener 51-48 victory against Carleton College Tuesday. Senior Jordan Sathoff (Packwood) led the Orange and Black with his 17 points and also added seven rebounds. Junior Mitchell Murphy (Cresco) joined him in double digits with 12 points.

Wartburg returns three starters from its squad a season ago under 15th-year head coach, Dick Peth.

Macalester:
Friday’s game is the Scots’ season opener under third-year head coach Tim Whittle. Leading the way for the young Macalester squad is All-MIAC honorable mention forward Pierce Peters, who heads into his junior campaign with 659 career points. Peters led the Scots in scoring in 16 out of 25 games in 2010-11 and finished with a 16.2 scoring average.

MIAC All-Newcomer pick Justin Wasik was the team's top outside shooter and was third on Macalester with a 10.5 scoring mark. He drained a team-best 38 three-pointers.

Crown College:
The Storm fell 90-66 in their season opener to Bethel on Tuesday under second- year head coach Luke Herbert.
Three players, David Glover, Truman Shetler and Taylor Jones all finished in double figures with 21, 13 and 12 points, respectively. Shetler led the team on the glass with his five rebounds.

UW-Stout:
Friday’s game also marks the season opener for the Blue Devils under 12th-year head coach Eddie Andrist. For the first time in 12 years, UW-Stout will have no seniors on the roster - a 2011-12 lineup that includes six juniors, nine sophomores and four freshmen. The Blue Devils lost 74 percent of the scoring from a year ago, but return three of their top-six scorers. Despite posting a sub-.500 record last season, the Blue Devils were outscored by an average of just over one point (79.5-78.4). Head coach Ed Andrist needs eight wins to reach 400 in his career.
