Wartburg Falls to Grinnell, Four Finish in Double Digits

GRINNELL, Iowa— The Wartburg men’s basketball team (2-2 overall) fell 115-97 to non-conference opponent, Grinnell (2-0) Tuesday night.
 
Four Knights finished in double digits and were led by 15 points from sophomore Eddie Diemer (Cedar Falls). He also recorded his first double-double of the year as he recorded 10 rebounds.
 
Newcomers Jamal Wright (Aurora, Colo.) and Seth Nutting (Milo) each tallied 12 points on the night and senior Jordan Sathoff (Packwood) rounded out the contingent with 11.
 
Nutting finished a perfect 8-8 at the charity stripe.
 
The Pioneers had three players in double figures and were paced by 27 from Matt Skelly. Griffin Lentsch followed closely behind with 25 and Luke Yeager accounted for 15 on the night.
 
The score was tied six times through the first half, but Grinnell began to build it lead in the last three minutes of the first half.
 
The Orange and Black won the battle of the boards (48-37).
 
Wartburg returns to action this weekend at UW-Stout’s tournament.
