Wartburg Defeats Central in Iowa Conference Opener

PELLA, Iowa—The Wartburg men’s soccer team (4-3-0 overall, 1-0 IIAC) won its Iowa Conference opener 1-0 over Central (5-4-0, 0-1) Saturday

Junior Brandon Cook (Bondurant) netted the game-winner at 69:49.

Sophomore Cade Shatzer (Hudson) made three saves to earn his third shutout win of the year in the net.

Central held the team advantage in shots at 15-11.

The Orange and Black return to the field Friday when they host Luther at 8 p.m.
