WAVERLY, Iowa—The Wartburg College men’s soccer team (1-1 overall) travels to St. Paul, Minn. to face Macalester (1-1) Friday at 7:30 p.m. and returns home to host Lawrence (0-2) Sunday at 4:30 p.m.
The Knights defeated Concordia-Moorhead 2-0 last Sunday for their first win of the young season.
Sophomore Cade Shatzer (Hudson) earned his first collegiate shutout as he made six saves in the game. Junior Austin Otto (Coralville) and Nate Gottsacker (Bloomington, Ill.) netted the two goals for the Orange and Black. Otto and Gottsacker co-lead the team with two points each.
Macalester fell 2-1 to St. Scholastica in its season opener last Thursday but defeated Luther 1-0 on Sunday. Robin Forslund leads the Scots with his four points.
Lawrence fell 3-0 to Edgewood last Thursday and 2-0 to the Milwaukee School of Engineering Wednesday night. The Vikings travel to face Luther Friday before making the trip to Waverly Sunday.
