WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg men’s soccer team (7-8-2) received the No. 4 seed in the Iowa Conference tournament and will host No. 5 seed Simpson (12-7-1) Saturday at 5 p.m.
This marks the 14
th time the Knights have qualified for the conference tournament and have claimed the title five times in the tournament’s history, most recently in 2009.
The winner of the tournament receives the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Previous Meeting:
The two teams played earlier this year on Oct. 4 in Indianola and the game ended in a 2-2 double overtime tie.

Wartburg:
Freshman Zubeen Azari (Spirit Lake) leads the team with 19 points (eight goals and three assists).
Senior Brandon Cook (Bondurant) and sophomore Dan Nadeau (White Bear Lake) join him in double digits with 14 and 13 points, respectively.
Sophomore Zak Kohlmeyer (Waterloo) has one shutout win in the net.
Simpson:
Five players have double digit points and are led by 32 from Tyler Neumann (12 goals and eight assists).
Mark Lahart follows with 23 points, Mitchell White 20, Marcus Varnum 16 and Jeremy Reinert with 10.
Luke Aronow has four shutout wins this year in goal.
