WAVERLY, Iowa-- Junior Eddie Diemer (Cedar Falls) recorded his second consecutive double-double with 17 points and 17 rebounds in Wartburg's 67-53 win over Carleton Thursday night.

Diemer's rebound total marked a new career-best as the Orange and Black snapped Carleton's two-game winning streak and improved to 4-3 on the year.

Seniors Mitchell Murphy (Cresco) and Drew Crawford (Marion) joined him in double figures as each finished with 12 points on the night.

Wartburg took the lead at 9-6 less than four minutes into the game and never looked back.

Carleton came within one point (49-48) with 8:28 left in the second half, but the Orange and Black answered with a 5-0 run over the next two minutes to build their margin to six.

As a team, Wartburg held the advantages in field goal percentage (.403-.395), free throw percentage (.625-.571) and rebounds (45-27) seventeen of which were offensive rebounds.

The Orange and Black are off from competition due to finals but return to the court next Saturday when they host Martin Luther at 4 p.m.
