Knights Host Spartans to Open Conference Play

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg men's soccer team (2-3-1 overall) hosts Iowa Conference opponent, Dubuque (5-2-0) Saturday at 3 p.m. to open the IIAC portion of its schedule and also hosts non-conference opponent, Carthage (6-1-0) Sunday at 2 p.m. to continue its four-game homestand.

A Look at the Teams:
Wartburg:

Sophomore Dan Nadeau (White Bear Lake, Minn.) leads the team with his two goals and four points. Seniors Brandon Cook (Bondurant), Luke Salzwedel (Middleton, Wis.) and freshmen Kevin Krueger (Prior Lake, Minn.) and Chris Nothnick (Overland Park, Kan.) have all scored one goal.

Freshman Zak Kohlmeyer (Waterloo) has one shutout win in goal.

Dubuque:
Nick McDonald paces the team with his eight goals and five assists for 21 points to date. Cory Winkler joins him in double figures with six goals and one assist for 13 points.

Goalkeeper Jake O’Rourke has two shutout wins on the year.

Carthage:
Carthage hosted St. Olaf College Friday night, but match statistics were also unavailable at press time.

To date, the Red Men are led by six goals from Jordan Innis while the Orange and Black is led by two goals by sophomore Dan Nadeau (White Bear Lake, Minn.)
