WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg women's tennis team (5-3 overall, 1-2 IIAC) defeated Iowa Conference opponent, Dubuque (4-6, 1-5) 9-0 Tuesday afternoon.
In singles play, senior Jenny Dallenbach (Decorah) won 6-0, 6-2 at the top spot and freshman Michelle Davis (Lakewood, Colo.) won her No. 2 match 6-2, 6-0.
Classmate Katherine Ross (Littleton, Colo.) won her No. 3 match in straight sets and senior Claire Evans (Alden) was victorious 6-0, 6-3.
Classmate Michelle McKenzie (Waverly) won her No. 5 match in straight sets and senior Brita Jensen (Richfield, Minn.) won 6-0, 6-1 to round out the singles competitors.
In doubles competition, Davis/Evans won 8-1 at the top spot.
Dallenbach/McKenzie were victorious 8-2 and Ross/Jensen also won their No. 3 match, 8-2.
The Knights continue their five-match homestand Saturday when they host IIAC opponents, Simpson and Central at 9 a.m. and noon, respectively.
