MOORHEAD, Minn.-- The Wartburg women's soccer team upset No. 12 Concordia-Moorhead Sunday with its 3-2 win to end the weekend's road trip 2-0 as the Knights defeated St. Catherine's Friday night.
Seniors Cathy Reiter (Buckingham), Kaylee Benning (Waverly) and Lauren Bauer (LaPorte City) were the goal scorers for the Knights.
"I am very proud of our players," said head coach Tiffany Pins. "They kept battling and found a way to come back. This was a long weekend and I'm happy with how they played."
Reiter scored the first goal of the game at 21:30 and Benning extended the lead with her successful penalty kick attempt at 35:50.
The Cobbers' Sarah Rounds cut the margin to one with her penalty kick at 39:52 to make the score 2-1 at halftime.
Rounds tied the game at 48:05 as she headed the ball off the corner kick.
Bauer scored game-winner off of junior Anna Aquino's (Bettendorf) corner kick.
The Orange and Black return to action Wednesday on the road against UW-LaCrosse at 7 p.m.
