Men's Soccer Moves up to No. 11, Travel to Face Pioneers

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg men's soccer team moved up to No. 11 in the NSCAA Top 25 poll for week eight, the national office announced today.

The Knights (12-2-2 overall) travel to face UW-Platteville (6-6-3) Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Orange and Black bring a nine-game winning streak into the match.

The Series:
UW-Platteville holds the all-time series lead at 10-5-0. The Knights won last years meeting as they upset then-No. 13 UWP, 3-2.

A Look at the Teams:
UW-Platteville:

Hunter McMahan leads the Pioneers with seven goals and 16 points (additional two assists). Cameron Weess and Mbodje Sarr follow with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Ian Christensen has four shutout wins.

Wartburg:
Four players have double-digit points and are led by 20 from junior Dan Nadeau (White Bear Lake, Minn.). He is the team's leading scorer with nine goals and two assists.

Freshman Paris Martins (Coralville) has seven goals and an assist for 15 points, sophomore Zubeen Azari (Spirit Lake) has five goals and four assists for 14 points and senior Bob Brown (Solon) has 10 points (four goals, two assists).

Senior keeper Cade Shatzer (Hudson) has three shutout wins and is 9-0-0 in net.
