WAVERLY, Iowa-- The No. 11 Wartburg men's soccer team (14-2-2 overall, 6-0-0 IIAC) moved its winning streak to eleven with its 2-1 win over Simpson (10-6-2, 3-3-0) Saturday.
Junior Dan Nadeau (White Bear Lake, Minn.) scored the game-winning goal with 0:40 to play. Freshman Paris Martins (Coralville) passed the ball to Nadeau who beat the goalie and tapped the ball into the goal for his team-best eleventh goal of the season.
The Storm were the first team on the board as Tyler Neumann scored at 41:56 with his shot to the lower left corner of the net.
Nadeau scored his tenth goal of the year as senior Bob Brown (Solon) beat the goalie, passed it to Nadeau who was able to score on the open net at 74:09.
The Knights held the team advantage in shots, 17-11.
The Orange and Black return to the field Tuesday when they host Luther at 7 p.m. in its regular season finale.
