The Kohawks struck first with a 22-yard field goal with 7:41 remaining in the third.

The Knights answered on their ensuing drive compiling an eight-play 55-yard drive that ended with a 24-yard field goal by sophomore Michael Bohlke (Manchester).

Coe took a 10-3 lead on its next drive on a 16-yard touchdown run by Colton Storla.

The Kohawks extended their lead to 17-3 on their first drive in the fourth quarter as Elijah Phillips caught an 11-yard pass from Josh Rekers.

Wartburg's defense blocked Chase Cooling's punt and senior Jared Wauters (Elberon) ran the ball in from 20-yards out to make the score 17-10 with 4:21 remaining.

Coe scored for the final time on its next drive with a 36-yard touchdown pass.

Senior Taylor Jacobsmeier (Wapello) finished with 210 yards through the air. Sophomore Jordan Schmitt (West Union) was the team's leading receiver with eight catches for 112 yards and the first 100-yard game of his career.

Central
Scoring on five of its first six possessions, the Central College football team rolled to a 48-3 Iowa Conference victory at Loras College last Saturday.

Two sets of brothers hauled in four of Central's six touchdowns. Tight end Jack Norgaard caught a 17-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter while linebacker Sam Norgaard recovered a fumbled punt attempt and took it 15 yards for Central's only score of the fourth quarter. Wide receiver Mitchell Boerm caught his first collegiate touchdown pass, a nine-yarder from his brother, Brendon Boerm a wide receiver who also serves as a back-up quarterback. Brendon Boerm scored a touchdown of his own on a 2-yard, third-quarter run.

The defense provided a spark as Central soared to a 21-0 first quarter lead. A fumble recovery by linebacker Mike Young following a sack on the opening Loras possession set up the game's first score; a 35-yard Aaron Eiseler toss to running back Josh Osborn at the 11:44 mark.

Three plays later, defensive back Jacob Tune intercepted a pass at the Loras 30, setting up Eiseler's 17-yard TD pass to Jack Norgaard. Following a punt, a 55-yard drive was completed with the Boerm-to-Boerm touchdown strike.

Kevin Sheldon booted second-quarter field goals of 33 and 38 yards; Central needed just 15 seconds to stretch the advantage to 34-0 in the third quarter. Taylor Cox returned the kickoff 43 yards and a 15-yard personal foul penalty pushed them even closer to the end zone. Osborn raced 35 yards to the end zone on the next play.

The Duhawks ruined the shutout with a 37-yard Louie Oswald field goal late in the third quarter.

Central's league-leading rush defense limited Loras to 90 yards on the ground. The Duhawks mustered just 74 yards passing, completing eight of 17 attempts. Central gained 220 yards on the ground and 128 through the air to hold a 348-164 yard advantage in total offense.
