WHITEWATER, Wis.-- The Wartburg men's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season in the 2-1 overtime decision to UW-Whitewater Saturday.
Bob Shone put the Warhawks on the board with his goal at 19:37 and this remained the score through halftime.
Freshman Paris Martins (Coralville) evened the score with his second goal of the season at 58:49. Sophomore Kevin Krueger (Prior Lake, Minn.) was credited with the assist.
UW-Whitewater held the advantage in shots in regulation, 19-13, but neither team scored to send the game into overtime.
Ty McCoy scored the game-winner at 94:19.
The Orange and Black are now 1-1-2 in overtime games to date.
Wartburg returns to action tomorrow when it concludes its Wisconsin road trip against UW-Oshkosh.
