WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg men's soccer team (4-2-2 overall) defeated nonconference opponent, Carthage (6-3-0) Saturday.

Senior Bob Brown (Solon) started his career-high three-point game as he made his penalty kick attempt at 16:20 to put the Knights on the board.

The RedMen evened the score at 36:18.

Freshman Paris Martins (Coralville) scored the game-winning goal at 60:26 as he connected on a pass from Brown.

Carthage held the advantage in shots (25-14), but the Orange and Black's defense held them off.

Wartburg returns to action Tuesday when it travels to Gustavus for a 4:30 p.m. match.
