WAVERLY, Iowa-- Seniors Thomas Perkins (San Tan Valley, Nev.) and Taylor Jacobsmeier (Wapello) finished in -double digits with 12 and 10 points, respectively in Wartburg's (7-7, 1-2) 74-63 loss to Central (9-5, 2-1) Wednesday night.
Classmate Eddie Diemer (Cedar Falls) nearly had a double-double with his eight points and as many rebounds.
The Dutch led 40-33 at halftime and continued to lead by double figures in the second frame until the Knights cut the margin to nine with 1:48 to play.
The Orange and Black held the team advantages in field goal percentage (.480 vs .473), free throw percentage (.611 vs .500) and blocks (4-1). Jacobsmeier had two of those blocks.
Wartburg returns to action Saturday when it hosts Coe at 4 p.m.
