WAVERLY, Iowa-- The No. 16 Wartburg men's soccer team (9-2-2 overall) moved its winning streak to four with its 3-1 win over nonconference opponent, St. Olaf (7-3-0) Wednesday night.

Senior Kyle Sprain (Waverly) gave the Knights the early 1-0 lead with his goal at 3:48. Senior Kevin Krueger (Prior Lake, Minn.) had a well-placed free kick in front of the net and Sprain capitalized on the flurry in front of the net.

Classmate Zach Smith (Cedar Rapids) doubled the lead at 24:38 as his first shot attempt was saved but he headed the ball into the back of the net on his next attempt.

This remained the score through halftime until Krueger scored on his shot at 54:19.

The Oles halted the shutout at 88:19.

St. Olaf held the narrow lead in shots (13-12) and the corner kicks were even at 5-5.

The Orange and Black return to the field Saturday when they host Coe at 7:30 p.m.
