The sixth-ranked Orange and Black are now 8-0 overall and 5-0 in Iowa Conference games while Buena Vista is 5-3, 4-1.
On their first drive of the day, Wartburg compiled an 11-play 75-yard drive which junior Brandon Domeyer (Manchester) capped off with a three-yard touchdown run with 9:31 left in the first to take the early 7-0 lead.
The Knights recovered their own kickoff but were picked off in the endzone to give the Beavers the ball.
BV drove down the field, but were limited to a field goal, this one for 31-yards to make the score 7-3 with 2:37 left in the first.
On their first drive of the second quarter, junior Robbie Anstoetter (Farley) caught an 11-yard pass from senior Taylor Jacobsmeier (Wapello) to take the 14-3 lead with 13:01 left in the half.
On the Beavers' next drive, they drove to Wartburg's 46-yard line until junior Wil Jansen (Mediapolis) intercepted the pass and returned it for 20-yards to BV's 42-yard line. The Knights capitilized on the turnover as junior Michael Bohlke (Manchester) made a 31-yard field goal to take the 17-3 lead.
Buena Vista then went three-and-out to give the Orange and Black the ball back at midfield. Junior Logan Schrader (Killdeer, Ill.) threw a 44-yard pass to Jacobsmeier for the score.
Later in the quarter, senior Skyler Dierikx (Durant) blocked a punt which classmate Taylor Hotek (Waterloo) recovered and ran it in for the seven-yard touchdown to make the score 31-3 with 38 seconds left in the half.
The Beavers got the ball to start the second half and they compiled an eight-play, 75-yard drive for a one-yard touchdown run by the quarterback.
Wartburg scored on its next drive, this time on a career-high 34-yard field goal from Bohlke.
On its first drive of the fourth quarter is when Richardson has his school-record touchdown run which made the score 43-10.
BV scored its final two touchdowns later in the quarter.
Richardson led the Knights on the ground with a career-high 146 yards on nine carries.
Schrader finished 13-26-1 for 213 yards through the air and Anstoetter was the team's leading receiver with 78 yards on five catches.
The Orange and Black take to the road next week against Simpson for a 1 p.m. game.
