Box ScoreVideo HighlightsINDIANOLA, Iowa-- Junior Logan Schrader (Killdeer, Ill.) tied the single-game school record for the second time this season as he had five touchdown passes in Wartburg's 41-10 win over Simpson. The Knights moved to 9-0 overall and 6-0 in Iowa Conference games as the Storm lost their sixth-straight game and fell to 3-6 and 0-6. With the win, Wartburg clinched at least a share of the IIAC title and earned the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Schrader accomplished this feat earlier this year against UW-Stout on Sept. 20.
The Orange and Black scored on their first drive of the game as senior Taylor Jacobsmeier (Wapello) caught a 32-yard pass from Schrader.
Simpson answered to tie the score at 7-7 as it scored on the ensuing drive.
In the second quarter, Mitch Rahm caught a 39-yard pass from Schrader on Wartburg's second drive of the frame to regain the lead at 14-7.
The teams traded possesions and the Storm got the ball back after a fumble on a Wartburg punt return, but the Knights got the ball back as the Storm turned it over on downs.
The Orange and Black took advantage of the turnover as they compiled a six-play, 65-yard drive that was capped off by a ten-yard touchdown run by Schrader to make the score 21-7 at halftime.
Wartburg struck again on its second drive of the third quarter as junior Robbie Anstoetter (Farley) caught a four-yard pass for his team-best tenth TD reception of the year.
On their next drive, the Knights scored again as this time Scharder found senior Donald Miller (Maywood, Ill.) had a 27-yard TD catch for the 13th of his career, which is good for ninth-best all-time.
Schrader tied the single-game school record on the first drive of the fourth quarter as he found Jake Holsteen for a 19-yard pass to make the score 41-7.
Simpson made a 20-yard field goal on its next drive which made the score 41-10.
Schrader finished 24-35-0 for 376 yards. Junior Brandon Domeyer (Manchester) led the team on the ground with 73 yards as he surpassed 2,000 for his career.
Jacobsmeier led all receivers with 89 yards on six catches.
Junior Gunner Tranel (Vinton) led the defense with 11 total tackles (six solo and five assists). He also had a team-best two tackles for a loss of 11 yards.
The Knights conclude the regular season when they host Loras next Saturday at 1 p.m. in the annual Senior Day.
