CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa-- Senior Eddie Diemer (Cedar Falls) and freshmen Jordan Cannon (Bolingbrook, Ill.) and Nick Weber (Peosta) all finished in double digits in Wednesday's win over Coe with 22, 18 and 11 points, respectively. Diemer had 12 points in the second half alone while Cannon had 14 in the second frame.
Diemer finished four points shy of his career-best while Cannon was just one shy of his career mark.
The Knights defeated the Kohawks 71-66 to complete the season sweep and moved to 12-12 overall and 6-7 in conference play while Coe is now 11-13, 3-10.
The Orange and Black led 38-33 at halftime and were able to hold off a late run by the Kohawks for the win.
Wartburg led 68-62 with 1:37 to play but a trey by Coe sliced the margin to three with 1:16 remaining.
Diemer's two free throws helped the Knights increase their lead to five (70-65) with 0:33 left. A free throw from the Kohawks brought it to 70-66 with 0:24 left but another Diemer free throw gave the Orange and Black the 71-66 lead with 0:18 remaining.
Coe came down with the defensive rebound on Diemer's second attempt but were unsuccesful on its final two three-point attempt to give the win to Wartburg.
The Knights conclude their regular season Saturday on the road against Central at 4 p.m.
