Men's Soccer Travels to Face Carthage, St. Thomas

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg men's soccer team (4-1-1 overall) travels to Kenosha, Wis. to face host-Carthage (2-4-0) Friday at 7 p.m. and St. Thomas (5-1-0) Saturday at 7 p.m.

The Series
Carthage leads the all-time series 2-1-0 as the teams have met the last three straight years. Wartburg won last year's meeting 2-1 in Waverly.

St. Thomas also leads the series 2-1-0, but prior to last year's game, the programs had not met since 1995. The Knights won 2-1 in overtime in St. Paul.

A Look at the Teams
Carthage:
Michael Dombrowski leads the team with eight points (four goals) and Johnny Rimkus follows with two goals. Keeper Jovani Mata has two shutouts on the year.

St. Thomas: The Thommies enter Saturday's meeting on a four-game winning streak. Pierce Erikson is the team's leading scorer with three goals and Mitchell Wolf has two shutout wins in the net.

Wartburg: Senior Dan Nadeau (White Bear Lake, Minn.) is the team's leading scorer with five goals. He also has two assists for a team-best 12 points. Sophomore Paris Martins (Coralville) is the next leading scorer with three goals.

Freshman keeper Donald Ticknor (Waterloo) has two shutout wins to date.
