Senior Zach Smith (Cedar Rapids) put the Knights on the board at 37:43 to give the Knights the 1-0 lead.
The Storm evened the score less than a minute into the second half but senior Dan Nadeau (White Bear Lake, Minn.) gave the Orange and Black the 2-1 lead at 51:40. Junior Kevin Krueger (Prior Lake, Minn.) was credited with the assist.
Azari scored his first of two goals at 52:30 on an assist from Nadeau and his second at 74:56 to take the 4-1 lead.
Simpson scored its final two goals at 80:23 and 84:46.
Wartburg returns to action on the road against Luther on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
