Wartburg Hosts Loras

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg men's soccer team (8-3-1 overall, 1-1-0 IIAC) hosts No. 9 Loras (6-3-1, 2-0-0) Saturday at 7 p.m.

The Series
Loras holds the all-time series lead at 27-12-2. The teams drew a 2-2 double-overtime tie in the IIAC championship game last fall, but the Knights advanced to the NCAA Tournament by winning the shootout 5-4.

Wartburg
Junior Paris Martins (Coralville) and freshman Ben Johnson (Cedar Rapids) lead the team with seven goals each. Freshman Ayo Adebayo (Rochester, Minn.) is the third-leading scorer with four goals and senior Zubeen Azari (Spirit Lake) has three goals. Senior Austin Boyke (Verona, Wis.) has two shutouts in goal.

Loras
Mike Gordon leads his squad with four goals and Austin Jacobi has three. Keeper Jacob Peterson has five shutouts to date.

National Stat Rankings
Wartburg ranks in the top 100 of seven statistical categories, which the NCAA released Tuesday. The Knights rank 34th in total goals (29), 35th in total points (80), 40th in total assists (22), 65th in scoring offense (2.42), 69th in points per game (6.67), 71st in assists per game (1.83) and 88th in won-lost tied percentage (.708).

Individually, three Knights rank in the top 100 of four statistical categories. Boyke ranks 70th in goals against average (.808) and 71st in save percentage (.827). Martins  ranks 73rd in total goals (7) and 90th in total points (16) and Johnson also ranks 73rd in total goals (7).
