No. 22 Wartburg Travels to St. Louis for NCAA Sweet Sixteen

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The No. 22 Wartburg women's soccer team (15-4-3 overall) travels to face No. 4 Washington University-St. Louis (18-2-0) in the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. Game time is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday. The winner of this match will advance to the Elite Eight Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Series
The Bears hold the all-time lead at 4-0-0 which includes the meeting back on Sept. 12 where WashU won 2-1.

Wartburg
The Knights drew a scoreless double overtime tie against No. 13 Puget Sound Sunday, but advanced to the Sweet Sixteen as they won the shootout, 5-4. This marks the first appearance in Sectional play since 2007 and second all-time in program history. Wartburg has a 4-3-3 record in five NCAA appearances, and is seeking its first trip to the Final Four.

Sophomore Morgan Neuendorf (Shell Rock) leads the team with nine goals and has one assist for 19 points. Freshman Alyssa Drewelow (Cedar Rapids) follows with eight goals and senior Brittany Frush (La Porte City) has six.

Sophomore keeper Beth Crow (North Liberty) has 11 shutouts to date.

WashU
WashU advanced to Sectional play for the 11th time in school history after posting wins over York College (4-0) and Denison University (1-0) in Granville, Ohio. The Bears have won six-straight contests, and have allowed just one goal in the last 10 games. WashU is making its 10th-consecutive and 15th overall appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament. The Bears have a 26-12-6 (.659) record in NCAA Tournament play with a pair of Final Four appearances in 1997 and 2009.

WashU enters Saturday's game on a six-game winning streak. Olivia Lillegraven leads the squad with 12 goals. Katie Chandler has seven and Darcy Cunningham has five. Goalie Lizzy Crist has nine shutouts.
