Box ScoreST. LOUIS-- The No. 22 Wartburg women's soccer team ended its season 15-5-3 overall as it was narrowly edged 1-0 by No. 4 Washington University of St. Louis in the NCAA Sweet Sixteen game.
"It is never easy when the season comes to the end," said head coach Tiffany Pins. "However, we had such fantastic year. They fought right to the end. These women have so much to be proud of. The coaching staff want to thank our seniors as the four of them have been incredible throughout their careers. It has been wonderful to call them my players. They will be missed but we are so excited to all the great things to come for each of them."
The game which featured a rain/snow mix and wind upwards of 25 MPH, was scoreless through halftime and for much of the second frame. The Bears netted the game-winner with 4:06 remaining.

Sophomore keeper Beth Crow (North Liberty) made eight saves on the day. The Orange and Black had three shots on goal in their second Sweet Sixteen appearance in school history.
