Sophomore Nate Woeste (Atkins) led the team with 14 points. Junior Nick Webber (Peosta) had 13 and freshman Cam Kickbush (Reinbeck) had 10. Webber nearly had a double-double with a team-best nine rebounds.

Defensively, the Orange and Black held Andre Norris, the Iowa Conference's reigning Player of the Year who entered the contest averaging 24.0 PPG to 15 points, which included just two points in the first half alone.
After Dubuque had a ten-point lead in the second frame, Wartburg tied the game with 4:14 to play as junior Lenart Kalen (Slovakia) made a trey. The Spartans made a basket a minute later to take the two-point lead by a free throw by junior Jordan Cannon (Bollingbrook, Ill.) with 1:58 left to slice the margin in half.
UD made its free throws down the stretch to add to its lead once more.
The Knights return to the court Saturday when they host Central at 4 p.m.
