Football Travels to Face Dubuque

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg football team (4-3 overall, 3-2 IIAC) travels to face Dubuque (7-1, 5-1) Saturday at 1 p.m. The Spartans were picked to win the Iowa Conference title in the preseason coaches poll.

The Series
Wartburg holds the all-time series lead at 44-16 and has claimed eight of the last nine meetings

Junior Connor Schrader (Lake Zurich, Ill.) leads the team with 426 yards on 74 carries with five touchdowns. Senior Jake Haberman (Clarion) has 296 yards and freshman Dylan Binion (Erie, Ill.) has 260.

Sophomore Matt Sacia (Eldridge) has thrown for 2,005 yards and 16 TDs and has added 154 yards on his feet.

Junior Griffin Brennecke (Marion) has a team-high 715 receiving yards on 36 catches for six scores while classmate Riley Brockway (Postville) has a team-best 45 receptions for 532 yards and four TDs.

Junior Tony Anstoetter (Farley) and senior Brendan Schott (Coggan) co-lead the team with 53 total tackles. Senior Dalton Ciavarelli (Clarksville) leads the team with 9.5 tackles for loss.

Dubuque
Maurece Herrion is the team's leading rusher with 543 yards on 133 carries for seven TDs. Dwayne Allen Jr. is second with 313 yards.

Signalcaller Conor Beckley has thrown for 2,485 yards for 28 TDs. His top target has been Najee Toomer who has 52 receptions for 922 yards and 11 scores. Dylan Schultz follows with 437 yards, Austin Morgan has 350, Jonathan Duarte has 335 and Emanuel Jenkins has 326.
