Knights Travel to Face Kohawks

WAVERLY, Iowa -- The Wartburg men's basketball team (6-1 overall, 1-1 IIAC) will travel to face Coe (4-2, 2-0) on Wednesday at 8 p.m.

The Series
Wartburg holds the all-time series advantage over Coe, 39-22. Last season, the Knights took the matchup at home, winning 93-70, but fell on the road 77-68 in overtime.

Wartburg
After falling to Simpson on Saturday, the Knights look to start another win-streak similar to their 6-0 run at the start of the season. The team is averaging .515 from the field this season. Three players have led Wartburg's offense. Sophomore Jaran Sabus (Urbandale), junior Nate Woeste (Atkins) and senior Jordan Cannon (Bolingbrook, Ill.) all average double-digits, with 17.6, 16.7 and 16.4, respectively. Senior Nick Webber has tallied 22 assists, leading the squad. Junior Clifton Brown (Mims, Fla.) has the most rebounds for the Orange and Black with 44.

Coe
The Kohawks enter Wednesday's game averaging 72.8 points per contest and have held opponents to 66.5 points per game. Matt Vonderhaar is the team-leading scorer, averaging 15.2 points per game. He is also the top rebounder with 49 total grabs. Treveor Haaland has recorded the most assists for the Kohawks, recording 27.  Marshall Shedeck leads the blocks (7) and steals (8) categories.

The Wartburg men's basketball team ranks in the top 100 of thirteen statistical categories, which the NCAA released Monday. The Knights rank third in free throws made (162), fifth in free throw attempts (225), ninth in field goal percentage (51.5), 15th in scoring offense (91.4), 15th in total assists (129), 23rd in won-lost percentage (85.7), 25th in assist turnover ratio (1.45), 25th in assists per game (18.4), 57th turnover margin (3.3), 58th in defensive rebounds per game (29.71), 72nd in total rebounds (272), 87th in turnovers per game (12.7) and 96th in scoring margin (7.3).

Individually, five Knights ranks in the top 100 of five statistical categories. Sabus ranks 13th in free throws made (45), 22nd in free throw attempts (57), 57th in field goal percentage (60.0) and in 71st in total field goals made (47). Woeste ranks 15th in free throws made (43), 61st in free throw attempts (48) and 67th in free-throw percentage (89.6). Webber ranks 67th in assist turnover ratio (2.75). Cannon ranks 71st in total field goals made (47). Senior Lenart Kalan (Skofja Loka, Slovenia) ranks 83rd in assist turnover ratio (2.57).
