With the win, Wartburg is 14-10 overall and 7-6 in conference games while the Spartans are 17-7, 10-3 and had their six-game winning streak snapped.
WARTBURG vs. DUBUQUE HIGHLIGHTSFreshmen Jaran Sabus (Urbandale) and Cam Kickbush (Reinbeck) joined him in double digits with 17 and 11 points, respectively.
Dubuque opened the game on a 20-9 run over the first ten minutes, but the Knights answered with a 18-3 run over the next 5:15 to take the 27-23 lead. A trey by Sabus as time expired in the first half gave the home team the 39-27 lead at the break.
The Orange and Black continued to maintain their lead in the second half and led by as many as 17 with 9:03 to play.
Defensively, Wartburg held Dubuque to 7.7% from three-point land (2-26) on the night including 0% (0-12) in the first half.
