WAVERLY, Iowa-- Junior Jordan Cannon (Bollingbrook, Ill.) led all scorers with 26 points in Wednesday's 67-56 win over the Iowa Conference regular season champions, Dubuque. With the win, Wartburg is 14-10 overall and 7-6 in conference games while the Spartans are 17-7, 10-3 and had their six-game winning streak snapped.

Freshmen Jaran Sabus (Urbandale) and Cam Kickbush (Reinbeck) joined him in double digits with 17 and 11 points, respectively.

Dubuque opened the game on a 20-9 run over the first ten minutes, but the Knights answered with a 18-3 run over the next 5:15 to take the 27-23 lead. A trey by Sabus as time expired in the first half gave the home team the 39-27 lead at the break.

The Orange and Black continued to maintain their lead in the second half and led by as many as 17 with 9:03 to play.

Defensively, Wartburg held Dubuque to 7.7% from three-point land (2-26) on the night including 0% (0-12) in the first half.
