Women’s Soccer to Face St. Thomas, UW-Oshkosh on the Road

WAVERLY, Iowa -- The Wartburg women's soccer team (4-0-1 overall) will travel Saturday to compete against St. Thomas (4-0-0) at noon and Sunday to take on UW-Oshkosh (3-2-0) at 2 p.m.

The Orange and Black enter Saturday's contest on a four-game win streak. All four wins were captured on their home field against non-conference opponents. Junior Beth Crow (North Liberty) earned her 21st career shutout in the net for the Knights last week, which ranks second-best in program history. Crow needs one more shutout to tie the school record. Sophomores Nicole Adair (Reinbeck) and Alyssa Drewelow (Cedar Rapids) lead Wartburg with three goals on the season. Drewelow and junior Alyssa Hewitt (Clive) both top the team with two assists.
 
St. Thomas

The Tommies lead the Knights 3-4-0 in the series matchup. When the teams last met in 2015, Wartburg won 2-0. This season Brielle Bierman and Taylor Skorik have both scored a team-high two goals. St. Thomas has not allowed an opponent to score against them in their first four games, with three shutouts credited to keeper Tarynn Theilig.

UW-Oshkosh
Wartburg and UW-Oshkosh have a 1-1-1 series record, with the most recent game ending in a double overtime 2-2 tie during the 2014 season. The Titans will travel to St. Norbert on Saturday before hosting Wartburg on Sunday. Rachel Elliott is the top scorer for the Titans, notching three goals thus far. Elliott also leads the team in assists with two.

Wartburg ranks in the top 100 of four statistical categories, which the NCAA released on Tuesday. The Knights rank 21st in save percentage (0.960), 24th in shutout percentage (0.750), 25th in goals-against average (0.237), and 49th in won-lost-tied percentage (0.875).

Individually, four Knights rank in the top 100 of three different categories. Adair, Drewelow and Hewitt all rank 96th in game-winning goals (1). Crow ranks 31st in save percentage (0.958) and 34th in goals against average (0.237).
