Men's Soccer Faces Luther

WAVERLY, Iowa-Wartburg's men's soccer (8-2-3 overall, 2-1-1 IIAC) team travels to Luther (7-4-2, 3-1-0) on Friday, Oct. 13 at 7:30 p.m.

The Series
The Norse lead the all-time series at 17-20-1. Wartburg defeated Luther during last season's matchup, 1-0.

Wartburg
Leading Wartburg's offensive effort is junior Ben Johnson (Marion) with a team-high six goals on the season. Classmate Ayo Adebayo (Rochester, Minn.) has four.

Junior Daniel Luzindya (Cedar Rapids) leads the team in assists with five.

In goal, junior Gunnar Lenzen (Cedar Rapids) has tallied three shutouts and 56 saves this season. Junior Paul Koebke Barsic (Madison, Wis.) has one shutout and one save.

Luther
Ben Keller has a team-best five goals for the Norse. Brunno Colon and Tyler Pieper have tallied four goals this season.

Keller, Rafael Broseghini and Victor Machado each have four assists.

Goalkeepers Carson Davenport and Will Blain have a combined three shutouts and 23 saves.

Wartburg ranks in the top 100 of six statistical categories, which the NCAA released Monday.
 
The Knights rank 32nd in save percentage (.843), 32nd in shots on goal per game (8.77), 56th in won-lost-tied percentage (.731), 60th in team goals against average (.803), 70th in shots per game (17.15), and 79th in corner kicks per game (5.92).
 
Individually, two Knights rank in the top 100 of four statistical categories: Lenzen ranks 42nd in save percentage (.836), 77th in goalie minutes played (1128:13), and 82nd in goals against average (.877), and Luzindya ranks 87th in total assists (5).
