DECORAH, Iowa-The Wartburg men's soccer team (8-3-3 overall, 2-2-1 IIAC) fell to the Luther Norse (8-4-2, 4-1-0), 2-1 Friday.
Luther jumped out to an early lead, scoring their first goal at 16:47. The Norse would take their 1-0 lead into halftime.
The Orange and Black got on the board with a goal from junior Ben Johnson (Marion) at 63:38. Senior Garrett Grimsman (Iowa City) tallied the assist.
The Norse would take the lead for good at 67:17, making the score 2-0 Luther.
Junior goalkeeper Gunnar Lenzen (Cedar Rapids) tallied one assist on the night.
Wartburg held the advantages in shots (11-7) and corner kicks (7-4).
The Knights return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 17 as they host Loras at 7:30 p.m.
