WAVERLY, Iowa-Wartburg's men's soccer team (8-4-3 overall, 2-3-1 IIAC) fell to Loras (8-5-0, 4-2-0) in overtime, 3-2, Tuesday.
The Orange and Black netted the first goal of the game from sophomore Devin Eby (Marion) at 14:01. Junior Daniel Luzindya earned the assist, which adds to his team-best six assists on the season.
Wartburg would take a 1-0 lead into halftime.
The Duhawks scored their first goal at 64:18 by Mark Broderick, with an assist from Josh Niloff. Loras' goal made it tied at one.
Freshman Jack Palen (Norwalk) would answer with an unassisted goal at 71:07 that dribbled its way into the net.
Loras would score two unanswered goals at 80:19 by Broderick and 98:54 by Kody Rife, respectively. The Duhawks scored the golden goal with just 1:06 remaining in the first overtime period.
Junior goalkeeper Paul Koebke Barsic (Madison, Wis.) tallied seven saves, while defending against the Duhawks.
Wartburg and Loras were tied in shots (16).
The Knights will return to action for their last Iowa Conference game at Simpson on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 7:30 p.m.
