INDIANOLA, Iowa-Wartburg's men's soccer team (8-5-5 overall) fell to Simpson (15-2-2) 3-1 in the opening round of the Iowa Conference Tournament Saturday.
The Orange and Black were down 2-0 at halftime, but got on the board with senior Jakub Rys' (Huntley, Ill.)'s goal at 54:41. Sophomore Devin Eby (Marion) had the assist.
In goal for the Knights, junior Gunnar Lenzen (Cedar Rapids) tallied three saves.
Wartburg held the advantage in shots (13-9).
With the loss, the Orange and Black will not advance in the Iowa Conference Tournament. Simpson will move on to face second-seed Loras in Dubuque on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m.
