WAVERLY, Iowa-No. 23 Wartburg (7-1-3 overall, 1-0-1 IIAC) drew a 2-2 double overtime tie against Dubuque (5-4-2, 1-1-1), 2-2 Wednesday.
The Knights trailed the Spartans at halftime, 2-0.
Freshman Jack Palen (Norwalk) got Wartburg on the board at 70:29, making the score 2-1 Dubuque.
Tieing the game at 2-2 was junior Ben Johnson (Marion) with his team-best sixth goal on the season at 74:48.
The Orange and Black had the advantages in shots (26-10) and corner kicks (6-5).
Wartburg will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 7 as they travel to face Nebraska Wesleyan at 4 p.m.
