WAVERLY, Iowa--The No. 21 Wartburg men's basketball (1-1 overall) edged Crown (0-2), 91-88 Friday.
The Orange and Black took a narrow four-point lead into halftime.
With 1:07 left in the game, junior Cam Kickbush (Reinbeck) sunk a clinch three-pointer to tie the game after trailing the Storm by four.
Crown's Torry Ledin would make his own three-point shot to tie the game up at 88.
Kickbush would net his third three-pointer of the game to give the Knights the victory, 91-88.
Kickbush tallied 18 points, marking a new career high. Junior Jaran Sabus (Urbandale) netted 15 points. Senior Sawyer Herman (Monticello), senior Nate Woeste (Atkins) and Kickbush each had three assists.
On Wartburg's defense, Woeste had a team-best six rebounds. Senior Clifton Brown (Mims, Fla.) had five.
With the win, the Knights advance to the championship game of the Buzz Levick Tournament against Aurora University (1-0) Saturday at 4 p.m.
