No 15/18 Wartburg hosts Nebraska Wesleyan in Regular Season Finale

WAVERLY, Iowa-- No. 15/18 Wartburg (9-0 overall, 7-0 IIAC) hosts Nebraska Wesleyan (2-7, 2-5) in the last game of the regular season Saturday at 1 p.m. The Knights won the Iowa Conference Championship and received an automatic bid to the NCAA Playoffs. The Orange and Black will learn their opponent and game location during the NCAA selection show Sunday afternoon.

The Series
Wartburg owns the all-time series lead at 1-0, as the inaugural meeting was last season in Lincoln.

Sophomore Dylan Binion (Albany, Ill.) leads the team on the ground with 1,063 yards and 12 touchdowns. He is the 17th player in program history to achieve the 1,000 season rushing mark and first since Brandon Domeyer in 2014.

Junior quarterback Matt Sacia (Eldridge) has thrown for 2,216 yards and 23 touchdowns on the season. He has finished with triple-digit passing yards in 15-straight games and in 17 of his last 18, which dates back to last season.

Sacia's top target has been senior Riley Brockway (Postville), who has 852 yards on 63 catches with nine TDs.
 
Senior Rob Rottler (Greene) leads the defense with 88 total tackles. Freshman JoJo McNair (Joliet, Ill.) and junior Peyton Imhoff (Dubuque) have a team-best five interceptions.

Senior Tony Anstoetter (Farley) has a team-best 7.5 TFL.

Career Leader List Watch
Sacia now ranks seventh on the program's career leader list in passing yards (4,960). His 47 passing TDs rank sixth, and his 381 completions are sixth-best.

Brockway's 2,074 receiving yards rank fourth and his 159 receptions are second-best. He is also third in kick return yards (1,204) and kick returns (56).

Senior Brayton Brandt (Center Point) has made 69 PATs, which is eighth-best.

Nebraska Wesleyan
The Prairie Wolves opened the season 0-7 but have won their last two-straight.

NWU also boasts a 1,000 yard rusher in Shaka Taylor, who has 1,023 yards and five TDs. Taylor also has a team-best 50 receptions and five TD catches.

Jonathan Curti has thrown for 2,888 yards and 27 TDs.  Bryce Darner leads the receivers with 555 yards, and Dakota Buss has 100 total tackles.

Senior Chris McNutt (Solon) ranks 3rd in punt return touchdowns (1) and 85th in passes defended (1.2), senior Hunter Baldus (Cedar Rapids) ranks 35th in fumbles recovered (2); senior Jake Pisarik (Mount Vernon) ranks 45th in punting (38.9); senior Griffin Brennecke (Marion) ranks 49th in yards per reception (19.48) and Rottler ranks 51st in total tackles (9.8).

Senior Brayton Brandt (Center Point) ranks 77th in field goal percentage (.571), and junior Peyton Imhof (Dubuque) ranks 9th in passes defended (1.9) and 24th in interceptions per game (.6);

Sacia ranks 13th in completion percentage (.671), 19th in passing efficiency (168.7), 24th in passing touchdowns (23), 28th in yards per pass attempt (8.79), 33rd in points responsible for (156), 38th in points responsible for per game (17.3), 42nd in passing yards (2,216), 52nd in passing yards per game (246.2), 58th in completions per game (18.78), 62nd in total offense (258.8), and 82nd in passing yards per completion (13.11).
