Wartburg Hosts Buena Vista in Regular Season Finale

WAVERLY, Iowa -- The Wartburg College men's basketball team (15-9 overall, 7-8 IIAC) will host their regular season finale on Saturday at 4 p.m. against Buena Vista University (14-10, 10-5).

The Series
The Knight hold a 61-50 all-time series record over the Beavers. Buena Vista came out on top when they faced the Orange and Black earlier this season, 86-79.

Playoff Picture
Entering the final regular season games for all Iowa Conference schools, Loras (11-4), Nebraska Wesleyan (10-5), Buena Vista (10-5) and Simpson (9-7) have already punched their postseason tickets. Two open playoff spots remain. Wartburg (7-8), Central (7-8) and Dubuque (7-8) all sit tied for fifth place. Coe (5-10) and Luther (2-13) round out the nine IIAC teams.

Saturday is the final home game for the four graduating seniors. Recognition of the four Knights will take place during halftime of the women's game.

Jordan Cannon (Bolingbrook, Ill.) played in 101 games during his four years with the Knights, of which he started 91 contests. He ranks third in program history in career scoring with 1,487 points, third in single-season starts with 27, fourth in career three-pointers made with 169, and eighth in field goals made with 550. In addition, he holds the IIAC tournament single game scoring record, with 32 points. Jordan was also a two-time First Team All-Conference player, earning the honors during his sophomore and junior seasons.

Lenart Kalan (Skofja Loka, Slovenia) played in 78 games, including 47 starts, and scored 269 points in Orange and Black.

JT Rottinghaus (Mason City) played in ten games and scored nine points in his Wartburg career.

Nick Webber (Peosta) started in 75 of his 103 games as a Knight. He scored 1,101 career points. In program rankings, he ranks second all-time in career steals with 136 and ranks second in single season steals with 54. He also ranks sixth in games started in a single season, starting 26 games last season, and seventh in career assists with 232. In addition, Nick earned Second Team All-Conference as a junior.

Buena Vista
The Beavers have already clinched their IIAC playoff spot. The team averages 79.1 points per contest. Kennedy Drey (16.5 points per game), Thomas Wisecup (13.6) and David Jeffries (13.2) lead Buena Vista's offense.
