WHEATON, Ill.-Wartburg's women's soccer team (5-1-0) defeated Wheaton (1-3-1) Friday night, 4-2.
Scoring first for the Knights was junior Megan Cowherd (Bettendorf) at 36:41 in the front of the net, with junior Alyssa Drewelow (Cedar Rapids) assisting.
Junior Nicole Adair (Reinbeck) netted her first goal of the game with a header, after the assist from senior Alyssa Christopher (Reinbeck) at 51:55.
Senior Morgan Neuendorf (Plainfield) found the net at 58:20 for the Knights' third goal. Neuendorf's score was unassisted.
The Orange and Black added one more goal to the scoreboard from Adair, with an assist from junior Amber Rottinghaus (La Porte City).
In goal, senior Beth Crow (North Liberty) tallied four saves.
The Knights held advantages in corner kicks (8-4) and saves (4-1).
Wartburg returns to action on Sept. 20 against UW-La Crosse in La Crosse, Wis. at 7 p.m.
