Men's Soccer Shuts Out Colorado College, 1-0

WAVERLY, Iowa—Wartburg's men's soccer team shutout Colorado College, 1-0 Sunday in Waverly.




Senior Jay Tegge (Napervile, Ill.) put the Knights on the board with 1:20 left in regulation. Assisting on the goal was sophomore Devin Eby (Marion).  The duo had a 2-1 advantage over Colorado's Theo Hooker when Tegge scored.

In goal, junior Gunnar Lenzen (Cedar Rapids) earned the shutout. It was Lenzen's second shutout in his career.

This marked the first career win for head coach Mike Madigan.

The Orange and Black held the advantage in saves (9-3).

Wartburg will return to action on Sept. 8 against Saint John's University in Collegeville, Minn at 4:30 pm.
