WAVERLY, Iowa-- Senior quarterback Matt Sacia (Eldridge) tied the single game school record with his five touchdown passes in the 47-20 upset win over No. 20 Central. With the win, the Knights move to 5-2 overall and 4-1 in American Rivers Conference games, while the previously unbeaten Dutch move to 7-1 and 5-1.
This was the second time in Sacia's career that he has tied this record, as he first accomplished this against Nebraska Wesleyan last season. This is the eighth time in school history this mark has been reached.

Sophomore JoJo McNair (Joliet, Ill.) got things started for the Orange and Black on their first drive and used a 56-yard run to take the early lead. Central answered with a scoring drive that resulted in a field goal on its ensuing possession.
The Dutch would tie the score at the end of the quarter, as they capitalized on a 55-yard field goal.
Wartburg began to take over as Sacia connected with McNair for a nine-yard pass on its first drive of the second quarter, and expanded the lead to 20-6 later in the frame on a 31-yard pass from Sacia to junior Kolin Schulte (Anamosa). Just before halftime, Sacia found junior Matt Mulford (New Hampton) for an 11-yard TD pass, to take the 26-6 lead into the locker room.
Sacia's fourth TD pass was to junior Brandan Childs (Solon) and after an interception by junior Cedric Dobbins (Waukee), the Knights took advantage of the short field as Sacia tied the record on another pass to McNair.
Sophomore Mason Carter (North Liberty) recorded the final scoring play as he used an 88-yard run.
Sacia finished 18-26 with 241 yards. He has finished with triple-digit passing yards in 27 straight games and 29 of his last 30, which dates back to the 2016 season. In addition, Sacia moved into second on the program's career leader list in pass completions with 600 to date. He surpassed Nick Yordi's 596 set in 2007-09.
Carter finished with a career-high 144 yards on 17 carries with one score. McNair led the receivers with nine catches for 83 yards and two TDs.
Senior Dillon Rademaker (Greene) led the defense with 13 total tackles and 4.0 TFL which included two sacks.
The Orange and Black take to the road next week against Loras.
