The Series
Wartburg owns the all-time series lead at 44-30-1, which includes 11 of the last 12. The Norse were victorious in their previous trip to Waverly in 2016, winning 28-27 in overtime on a successful two-point conversion. The programs have met every season since 1944.

Senior quarterback Matt Sacia (Eldridge) has thrown for 2,141 yards and 25 touchdowns. He has finished with triple-digit passing yards in 28 straight games and 30 of his last 31, dating back to the 2016 season.
Junior Kolin Schulte (Anamosa) leads the receivers with 762 yards on 33 catches and six TDs. He has tallied triple digits in receiving yards in three of the last four games. Sophomore JoJo McNair (Joliet, Ill.) joins him above the 400-yard mark with 487 yards and eight TDs.
Sophomore Bennett Goettsch (Marengo) has a team-high 407 yards on 94 carries with 10 TDs. Junior Connor Bailey (Knoxville) has 352 yards and three TDs, and classmate Mason Carter (North Liberty) rounds out those in triple digits with 339 yards.
Senior Marcus Johnson (Huxley) leads the defense with 74 tackles. Classmate Dillon Rademaker (Greene) leads the team with 14.0 TFLs..

Sacia is the all-time leader in TD passes (84). He is now is second in passing yards with 8,139 and in pass completions with 618.
Single Season Record Watch
Sacia's 25 TD passes are tied for fourth-best in a single season. Freshman Kain Eagle's (Denver) 39 PATs stand seventh-best.
Luther
Quarterback Ian Kuykendall has a team-high 794 yards rushing on 146 carries for six TDs. He has thrown for 1,370 yards and is 110-209 for nine TDs. Â His top target has been Justin Montgomery who has 40 catches for 473 yards and five TDs.
