WAVERLY, Iowa-- Fittingly on Senior Day, senior Daniel Luzindya (Cedar Rapids) netted the game-winning goal in Wartburg's (6-5 overall, 2-1 A-R-C) 5-4 double overtime win over Nebraska Wesleyan (4-6, 0-3) Saturday.
Freshman Kevin Duque (Storm Lake) had the assist on the game-winner.
The Knights led 2-1 at halftime, but the Prairie Wolves outscored them 3-2 in the second frame, to send it into overtime.
The Orange and Black held the 3-0 advantage in shots in the first overtime session, but were unable to score.
Just over a minute into the second OT period, Duque connected with Luzindya for the game-winner.
Luzindya had two goals and one assist to lead the team on the day.
Senior Paul Koebke Barsic (Madison, Wis.) was credited with the win in the net, his sixth of the season.
Wartburg returns to the field Tuesday at Buena Vista at 7:30 p.m.
