Knights Travel to Face Prairie Wolves in IIAC Tournament Semifinal

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg men's basketball team (17-9 overall) travels to face Nebraska Wesleyan (22-3) in the semifinals of the Iowa Conference tournament Thursday at 7 p.m.

The Series
Nebraska Wesleyan holds the narrow lead at 5-4 in the all-time series. The Prairie Wolves won both regular season meetings.

Wartburg
Three Knights average in double digits as junior Jaran Sabus (Urbandale) leads the team at 15.8 PPG. Seniors Sawyer Herman (Monticello) and junior Cam Kickbush (Reinbeck) follow at 13.0 and 11.3, respectively.

Sabus also has a team-high 5.8 rebounds/game.

Career Leader List Watch
Woeste is tied for 20th with his 1,159 points, eighth with 124 three-point field goals, tied for fourth with 114 steals, and third with 359 free throws.

Kickbush is sixth in three-point field goals (161).

Sabus is tied for fourth in free throws (315) and is 31st in points (1,014) as he joined the 1,000 career point club Tuesday.

Wartburg in the IIAC Tournament
The Knights have qualified for the conference tournament for the 16th time and sixth-straight year. This is the first time the Knights and Prairie Wolves have met in the conference tournament.

Nebraska Wesleyan
The Prairie Wolves enter the night on a five-game winning streak. They earned the top seed in the tournament with their IIAC regular season title.

Five players average in double digits as Cooper Cook leads the way with 16.8 PPG. Nate Schimonitz follows at 15.7, Ryan Garver at 14.8, Jack Hiller at 13.2 and Deion Wells-Ross at 12.8.

Wells-Ross nearly averages a double-double with his team-high 9.5 rebounds/game.
