ST. PAUL-- The Wartburg women's soccer team opened the new season in shutout fashion in the 3-0 victory against Macalester Friday afternoon. This was the second-straight shutout win in the series.
Senior Morgan Finch (Grinnell) gave the Knights the 1-0 lead with just seconds remaining in the first half at 44:48. She connected on a pass from classmate Meghan Cowherd (Bettendorf).
Senior Alyssa Drewelow (Cedar Rapids) extended the lead under a minute into the second half (45:37) for her first goal of the season.

Senior Nicole Adair (Reinbeck) took the corner kick and sophomore Molly Close (Polk City) scored on the play to seal the win.
The Orange and Black owned the advantage in shots, 22-6.
Freshman Emma Strong (Broomfield, Colo.) and junior Hayley Krogh (Hudson) combined for the shutout in goal.
