WAVERLY, Iowa – The Wartburg women's soccer team (3-2 overall) will play host to a couple of nonconference foes this weekend, as they are slated to face the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 1 p.m., followed by a match with No. 24 Carleton College on Sunday, Sept. 16 at 2 p.m.
The Pointers (4-0-1) are coming off of a 1-0 victory on the road at Edgewood College on Wednesday, Sept. 12. The Pointers are led in goals (4), total points (9), shots (22) and shots on goal (12) by forward Maddy Hardyman. At goalie, the Pointers are led in total minutes (324:33), saves (21) and wins (2) by Lexi Pawlowski. Wartburg holds a 2-0 all-time record over the Pointers, with their last matchup resulting in a 3-2 Knights' victory on Sept. 20, 2015.
Carleton (3-0-1) is currently ranked No. 24 in the nation, according to the United Soccer Coaches Association, and are coming off of back-to-back wins over Grinnell College and the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Carleton will host Hamline University on Saturday, Sept. 15, before making the trip to face Wartburg. The Knights are led in goals (4), total points (8), shots (18) and shots on goal (7) by forward Nora Mertz. Wartburg has faced Carleton a total of six times throughout its history, with Wartburg getting the better of Carleton by leading the series 4-2. The last time the two programs faced one another was on Sept. 7, 2016, in a 2-0 victory by Wartburg.
Wartburg is coming off a 2-1 defeat to UW-LaCrosse at the home opener on Wednesday night. On the season, the Knights are led in scoring (4), total points (9) and shots (18) by senior forward

Emma Strong leads the squad in total minutes (355:08), saves (13), and wins (2).
