LACROSSE, Wis.-- The Wartburg volleyball team (5-5 overall) split its matches at the UW-LaCrosse Quadrangular Saturday.
The Knights defeated the host-Eagles 3-2, but fell to UW-Whitewater 3-1.
In the match against UWL, senior Lizzy Blough (Dike) and sophomore Kylie Bildstein (Dyersville) led the team with 16 and 15 kills, respectively. Senior Mallary Erbes (Urbandale) tallied 39 set assists and added four service aces. She has now moved into ninth on the career leader list in assists.
Freshman Dana Baumann (Emmons, Minn.) had a career-high 13 digs, sophomore Sydney Rottinghaus (Mason City) and junior Hanna Halverson (Gilbertville) each had 12 digs, and Erbes had 11 digs.
The Orange and Black owned the team advantages in kills, hitting percentage, assists, and blocks. Defensively, Wartburg held UWL to a team hitting percentage of .038.
Against the Warhawks, Blough matched her career mark with 19 kills, and added a double-double with 14 digs. She first set this mark against Bethel against Bethel on Aug. 31. Erbes tallied 28 assists, Halverson had 12 digs and freshman Madison Hedges (New Hartford) added 11 digs.
The Knights return to the court Wednesday on the road against Dubuque at 7:30 p.m.
