FULTON, Mo. – The Wartburg men's soccer team wrapped up their weekend road trip through Missouri with a 1-0 victory over the Blue Jays of Westminster College, improving the Knights record to 2-4 and dropping the Blue Jays to 1-4
The Knights scored the winning goal late in the match on a shot from sophomore forward
Jack Palen (Norwalk) which was assisted from senior midfielder
Daniel Luzindya at 78:37. The goal stands as Palen's second on the season, while the assist is the first for Luzindya.
The Knights were firing away shots all afternoon as they attempted 24 shots throughout the contest in comparison to the Blue Jays' five. Senior goalie
Paul Koebke Barsic (Madison, Wis.) locked down the Knights' goal and complied two saves in doing so. Koebke Barsic improves to 2-0 on the season after today's victory.
The Knights will travel back home to face St. Olaf College on Sept. 19 at 7:30 p.m.
